5 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine
1 stick butter
2 whole eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 shot of whiskey
1 small can beer (a few swigs short of full can!)
powdered sugar

Cooking Instructions

Mix all dry ingredients except powdered sugar. Add butter and margarine until crumbly. Mix in eggs, whiskey and vanilla, then add enough beer for right consistency to knead until smooth and ready for rolling.

Roll dough thin, and cut into 2" wide strips. Next cut each strip 3 - 4" sections at an angle. Slit the middle and pull one end through. Have floured trays ready to put cut ties on. Cover with waxed paper when each layer is filled to keep from drying out.

Fry in about 1/2 - 1" of oil until light brown, then flip over for a few more seconds. Remove very carefully and drain on brown bags or paper towels.

Stack on a tray in pyramid shape, sprinkle with powdered sugar on each layer.

Change the frying oil as needed. Good luck and enjoy! Keep a sharp knife handy around the finished krusciki's to ward of taste testers!!
